Kickstarter Update: Music from Actraiser and EarthBound Crushes Super Mario and Zelda

The countdown for our Kickstarter project to produce and record a new full-length album of your (yes, YOU are choosing which tracks we record!) favorite anime and video game music continues with only 18 days to go! We now have a decent sampling of votes with 16 backers and $755 of our $8,000 goal in thus far; here’s the current voting breakdown:

Note: 71 votes have not yet been cast. And you can see all of the below info in pretty colors via our Kickstarter Song Votes Progress Chart. (This updates live, so it will always reflect the current voting info.)

Kickass Tracks:

  • Group 1: 126 votes for Mega Man Medley, Frog’s Theme, Man with the Machine Gun
  • Group 2: 203 votes for Final Fantasy Battle Theme Medley, New Mega Man Medley, Go Dark
  • Group 3: 145 votes for The Moon Theme, Chemical Plant, Contra Jungle Theme

The number of votes for each of these groups is too close to call at this point; two or three $20-level backers could easily swing group 1 or 3 ahead of group 2.

Nostalg-tastic Tunes:

  • Group 1: 55 votes for Super Mario Bros Medley, Kraid, Sailor Moon Opening Theme
  • Group 2: 349 votes for Birth of the People, The Egg and You, Onett Theme
  • Group 3: 70 votes for Zelda Medley, Robe des Champs, Saving the Dam

Group 2, with music from Actraiser, Cowboy Bebop, and Earthbound, clearly commands the lead with more than 4 (FOUR!) times the number of votes as groups 1 and 3.

Rainy Day Songs:

  • Group 1: 203 votes for Voices, Tina’s Theme
  • Group 2: 231 votes for Lilium, Brothers
  • Group 3: 40 votes for Sora, Sadness and Sorrow

It’s looking pretty close between group 1 and 2… if you’d rather have music from Macross Plus and Final Fantasy VI on the album, better get voting! (If you want to see it stay as-is, group 2 could use some more votes to give it a firmer grip on the lead!)

There are hundreds—even thousands!—of potential votes that could easily flip the current standings on their heads as more backers pledge and vote for their favorite pieces, so tell your friends and get them to vote, too (after you convince them to vote for your favs, of course)! 😉

Raising funds through Kickstarter is an all-or-nothin’ deal; we need to raise the remaining $7,245 in 18 days or this album won’t happen. Spread the word!
