Update 2: To the Studio!

Is it finally Friday? It’s been a busy week! As I mentioned in this post, we Hideo peeps were in the studio all this last weekend recording 3 songs for our very first album. But it didn’t stop there; we had to go back for another day’s worth of work yesterday to master everything with the sound engineer and put the tracks in tip-top shape. And – last but not least – we had to design the cover and disc artwork.

It was a long and challenging process, but really exciting and a lot of fun (I have some pretty hilarious moments on video) at the same time! The songs sound FANTASTIC and I just finished submitting the master tracks and album artwork to CDBaby, who we’re using to produce both physical discs (for selling at shows and other events) and to set us up with iTunes and Amazon MP3 (among others). The discs should arrive around May 25 – just in time for FanimeCon! If you plan on attending the convention and want to be one of the first to get your hands on the album, be sure to swing by the lobby of the San Jose Civic Auditorium (across the street from the convention center) on Sunday, May 29 during the cosplay masquerade as we’ll have a table set up during the show with CDs and posters available for purchase.

I haven’t had time to go through all the behind-the-scenes footage I took while we were at the studio. So in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at the awesome album art courtesy of Kathy and Gary. Enjoy, and I’ll have more details – and video – on Monday!

It was definitely cool to be in the studio and hear everything come together.. but it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Stephen, longtime friend and amazing sound designer. Long hours and determination for perfection. He did a great job at visualizing the sound that fits HIDEO perfectly. BTW the tracks sound awesome 🙂
